I have a handful of people ask me what FEC chemo is, and I haven't been able to properly answer them other than "the nasty chemo". FEC stands for 3 drugs, Fluorouracil, Epirubicin, & Cyclophosphamide. I will continue w/ the Herceptin due to my hormone negative tumor. And in last week's chemo we discussed how my Neutrophils auto count were below normal. According to my dr. she had already intended to give me a Neupogen shot. This shot stimulates bone marrow to make more white blood cells. Basically, it means my counts are getting low, therefor I am much more susceptible to catching a sickness and having a very difficult time fighting it off. joy.
I will have this regiment injected every 3 weeks. But the Fluorouracil will be injected a second time, 3 days later. That's just it's recommended dosage.
