It's moving time!

On March 8 the trucking company arrived and began packing up our house. We'd spent a considerable amount of time getting rid of items we wouldn't need since we were downsizing to a 2 bedroom apartment from a 3 bedroom house. We downsized enough that our entire house and 2 vehicles fit on the truck.
that's a HUGE semi truck!

Noots, the driver's pup, kept us company while our girls were at their grandmom's

Last vehicle is in. Time to close up the truck and head on. Our crew was great!

March 9 the truck pulled off and headed to California. We fit in some more time with friends and family and left on March 12. This was Lucius's first flight, and I was EXTREMELY nervous.
Lucius and the first plane he'll be flying on.

Went to take a cute picture of dad and son, when suddenly Lucius decided to make it silly by lifting his feet up.
Fortunately, Frontier Airlines was awesome! We upgraded to their medium class for only $30 a leg (2 legs). This got us 5" extra inches of leg room, free personal tv viewing (each chair in front of us had a tv), early boarding, 2 checked bag for free per person, and the ability to work the whole "is this flight full? b/c we're traveling with a toddler" to guarantee us an empty 3rd seat. So our flying experience wasn't too bad.

first family plane ride

he put the headphone jacks in and out for at least an hour. So glad we could let him walk around in the foot area.
The first leg was better for Lucius. We got him to drink some apple juice and there was very little crying from the air-pressure change. I think he took a 40 minute nap on me. However, the second leg was rougher. He'd only had 2 mini naps. One 20 minute in the car and the 40 minute on me. He usually takes 2 naps 1.5-2.5 hours. So he was beat. We were unable to get him to drink so he screamed in pain, which made me cry b/c I couldn't do anything about it. But, within 5 minutes, I guess his ears popped and things were better once he was allowed to not be in my lap. Trevor got the lovely experience of changing a dirty diaper on the plane.
We arrived in San Fransisco around 7 (10 our time) and headed to the hotel. We set up the pack n play for Lucius and he cutely showed us that he wasn't tired yet by popping up and giving us big smiles. Apparently he also needed to wind down with some TV before going to bed.
March 13 we moved into our apartment (first day we could move in and not until 11am) and March 14 Trevor went to work (2 day delay due to the apartment not being available until the 13). Trev pulled off the mega of all events falling directly into the right spot so he could start work on time. So glad his job suggested pushing his start date by 2 days so I didn't have to do the move alone. In fact, the day of the move-in, Lucius demanded a nap. I was sitting on a recliner without a back being his bed for the first 30 minutes of his nap. Then the mover's found the back and got me set up better. He almost took a 2 hour nap. Basically I've learned that I am of no help other than to attend to Lucius, awake or sleeping. He is my job and I can do nothing else unless he's down for the night.
