No longer a guessing game

A tooth has shown up in lucius's mouth. He started getting especially chewy on his thumb last week. One day he even woke up 2 hours early. He even had two 3+ hour naps (usually 2 hour). I would think "maybe he's teething". But then I'd dismiss it b/c he wasn't really cranky and he wasn't drooling nor did he have a low fever. But today I felt something in there, so we went outside (b/c that's the best light) and took a peek. There's a little line where a tooth will be popping up sometime soon. How neat.

In other development news, last week we worked on sitting. He seems to be doing well with that. To celebrate we had two meals with him sitting in the highchair, such a relief. And we went grocery shopping with him sitting in the cart.
The week before he decided he wanted to stand up on his own from a sitting position. If I put my hands in front of him, for balance, he'll stand up and chuckle. This week's lesson is suppose to be rolling over since he still hasn't done that. He'll throw his hips to the side to try and grab at something. But he hasn't gone all the way over, unassisted. And he 's doing this from back to stomach b/c tummy time is not happy time.

I'm loving being home with him and teaching him things. Honestly, just being able to focus all my attention on him is great. The first week was odd. I felt guilty for letting so many things "go" around the house. But now I've caught up and feel a since of relief. I feel normal again. Odd since I've never been a parent.
He is a mostly happy baby. He chuckles at me a lot, even when I'm not trying to entertain him. Makes my heart melt every time. Life is good.
